Frequently Asked Questions
Congratulations on your Engagement
As you start planning your wedding in the beautiful Okanagan, finding the right Celebrant is an important step and you might have a few questions along the way.
I’ve put together a list of the most common questions I hear from couples to make things a little easier as you move forward. I hope it’s a helpful starting point, and if you’d like to talk more about your ceremony or what to expect, I’m always happy to connect.

What is a wedding Officiant/Celebrant?
A Wedding Officiant does more than make your marriage legal—they help bring your unique love story to life. As your officiant, I’ll guide you through every step, from the legal essentials to a personalized ceremony that reflects your values, style, and connection. Whether your celebration is intimate or grand, I’m here to make it feel effortless, meaningful, and truly unforgettable.
Whether your celebration is intimate or grand, traditional or entirely your own, I bring calm, care, and heartfelt intention to every moment. This isn’t just about saying “I do”—it’s about creating something beautiful you’ll remember forever.
How much do you charge?
I offer three thoughtfully curated packages to suit a variety of needs and budgets. If you’re looking for something a little different, I’m more than happy to explore custom options with you.
What do we need to get married in B.C.?
You will need to purchase a Marriage License sometime within 3 months prior to your wedding date (licenses expire after 3 months!)
At the ceremony, both of you, your two witnesses, and I will sign the Marriage License and Marriage Register.
Do you handle the marriage license filing?
Yes, the filing of your marriage license is included as part of my services — one less thing for you to worry about.
How long is the ceremony?
Aside from the Simple and Sweet Ceremony package, ceremonies typically run between 15–25 minutes. I aim to create something heartfelt and memorable, without feeling rushed or overly long.
Can we say our own vows?
Absolutely! Personal vows are a beautiful way to bring meaning and authenticity to your ceremony. I encourage it and would be happy to help you incorporate them.
Do you offer rehearsals?
Yes, I’m happy to facilitate your rehearsal to ensure everything runs smoothly on your special day.
Are you licensed to marry people in Canada?
Yes, I am a registered Celebrant with a credential number issued by the government, which authorizes me to perform legal marriages.
